Let me know if this sounds familiar. You carry your camera with you everywhere. It is in your purse or diaper bag ready to be pulled out at a moments notice to capture the next adorable, funny, heart-warming moment of your children’s lives. I know I am constantly pulling out my iPhone to capture those moments of our day that I don’t want to forget. But, if you look back at the last month or even year of the snapshots you have taken how many of them are you, their mother, included in? I know I could count on one hand the number of pictures I am in with my kids. The excuse list in my head is a mile long. Oh, it’s not a good hair day. The baby spit up on my shirt. I haven’t done my make-up. When I lose 10 more pounds. In the mean time memories are being lost. When my kids are grown and look back through their pictures I want them to see how much fun I had playing with them, how I loved giving them hugs and just being with them. So in the spirit of Mother’s Day I urge you all to hand over the camera and jump in front of it. Embrace the hear and now and make memories with your kids as you are today. Afterall, that is the person they love and will be celebrating this weekend.
