Holiday Shopping Websites for Special Needs Toys

It can be challenging to get into a store that carries special toys during the holidays.  As a parent of a special needs child and a full time employee with several side jobs, I often can’t shop in a store with my son.  I often spend a lot of my time on the internet perusing the various sites trying to figure out what to get or where to get the best bargain. I have compliled a list of my favorite websites to shop and codes to get deals to help keep the costs down.

Here are my official holiday sites:

yoyo.com -Code for one time discount: BIRD0595 for 20% off first order and they will donate $25 to one of their charities in your honor.  It’s a newer website, but it is part of the Diapers.com family and has some great discounts.  All Shipping is free over $49.

OneStepAhead -20% off orders of $100 or more.  Use this code:  20OFF.  It’s a great website that has connections with Able Play the leading authority on toys for children with disabilities.  Their catalog always makes me want to spend, spend, spend!

Specialneedstoys – Free shipping on orders over $99.  This is a specialized website that has a multitude of toys and equipment that you can use with your child depending upon their disability.  The weighted blankets have been recommended for kids with ADHD to help slow and calm them down.

Playworks -This site has a lot of really cool gadgets geared toward therapy and sense issues.  I was excited when I found the touchable bubbles!

Fatbraintoys – Free shipping for orders over $99.   This site has a list of the different disabilities and what toys would help the children who have them.  It’s a great assistance for family members who aren’t necessarily toy savy.

Amazon -If you do a search for special needs toys, you can find some of the toys you see in the store on this site.  It’s already a popular site for most online shoppers and it allows you to see what else is out there.

SillyGooseToys -Free shipping for orders over $95.  Coupon Code: SHIP95.  This is a unique website that has a different twist to toys.  I was pleasantly surprised to see different sized puppets on this site and they were reasonably priced.

These are only a few of the websites that are available, but it is a good start to finding the toys you need.  And yes, there is still time to order!
